More than 380 young leaders were in attendance as the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) hosted its annual young leaders meeting.
The event was hosted in Destin, Florida, from April 12-15 and included two general sessions, networking opportunities and community service activities.
“The Young Leaders Annual Meeting showcases how important young professionals are to the aggregates industry,” NSSGA president and chief executive officer Michele Stanley said.
“These men and women in attendance are the future and we value their engagement. This event creates a dynamic meeting environment to stimulate their passion for the industry.”
The first general session featured keynote speakers Stanley, Wally Adamchick from FireStarter Speaking and Consulting, Mark Helm and Leland Meiser from Dolese Bros. Co, and Craig Lamarque from Wirtgen America and the immediate past chair of the Manufacturers & Services Division.
The second general session was headlined by Vulcan Materials Company chief executive officer Ronnie Pruitt and retired USMC officer Dave Berke. The breakout sessions focused on important topics such as professional development and technology adaptation.
The BuildHer Lunch and Learn was introduced this year to support women in the aggregates sector, with Stanley providing the keynote speech on her experiences in the industry.
The Mark S. Walsh Annual Leadership Award was presented to Clay Albright from Rogers Group Inc. Outgoing chair Chad Weems of Martin Marietta handed over the role to Gulf Coast Sand’s Ryan Morales.
The next NSSGA Young Leaders Annual Meeting will be held April 25-28, 2027.
