The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association's President and CEO, Michael Johnson, has issued the following statement supporting the nomination of Shailen Bhatt to lead the US Federal Highway Administration. NSSGA previously shared this letter of support with the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works ahead of their vote.
“The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is currently faced with tackling the large task of implementing the bipartisan infrastructure law. Therefore, it is critical for FHWA to have a knowledgeable and qualified leader confirmed. Bhatt’s decades of experience and career work to advance infrastructure development make him the ideal pick. NSSGA is proud to serve as an industry partner with FHWA. We will work with FHWA to ensure that IIJA implementation continues correctly and that challenges are efficiently addressed.
