Al Asriyah Marble Company, an Oman-based globally renowned marble processing company, has chosen a water treatment and sludge dewatering plant solution from Fraccaroli and Balzan (F&B) as part of its overhaul of machines used to process stone materials.

The F&B plant’s decantation circuit is made up of one decanter mod – FB/6000 V-WD (diameter 6m), a clean water storage tank for the decanted water and a recycling unit for sending back the clean water to the machines. Inside the waste water pit, a second waste water pump is installed to be kept as spare and the flocculant station is equipped with two flocculant dosing pumps, working alternatively. In this way, the system can work continuously without any interruption.

The liquid slurry discharged from the decanter is collected into a mud tank and, through a centrifugal pump, goes to the filterpress FB/1000-15 EXP 20. The filterpress is expandable up to 20 plates, so, if more processing machines are installed in the future, the filterpress will be able to cope with the higher production rate. Moreover, a special device for the mud separation allows the customer to choose in which of the two containers, located under the filterpress, to collect the dehydrated mud.

The whole F&B plant for Al Asriyah Marble Company is fully automatic and all functions and operating parameters are controlled by a PLC.
