Specialist UK construction chemical supplier Oscrete is boosting its team with a further apprentice appointment.

New Materials and Testing Apprentice Rennison Forrest-Parkinson joins Oscrete’s laboratory team this month in his first full-time role since leaving Guiseley High School.

Rennison, 19, already has a construction background after shadowing a construction site manager and undertaking work experience at a local construction firm.

He said: “I have always been interested in construction design and build so made a point of securing as much work experience as I could during my GCSE years which took me from the design stage of construction through to being on-site seeing projects coming together.

“Oscrete is a really forward-thinking company that goes even further back in the construction process by creating the chemicals and the products that ensure concrete products are created to the highest quality and strength. I’m looking forward to learning a new side of the construction industry, building new relationships in this sector, and developing my skills with a Level 3 Materials Technician qualification.”

West Yorkshire-based Oscrete is one of the UK’s leading specialist construction chemical suppliers, manufacturing a comprehensive range of concrete admixtures for the pre-cast and ready-mix market and developing and supplying additives for the manufacture of dry bagged mortars and adhesives.

Oscrete director Scott Wilson added: “We are delighted to be welcoming Rennison into the Oscrete team. His ambition, energy and passion for making a difference in construction really shone through and we are looking forward to watching and nurturing his development as he works alongside our growing team.”
