UK concrete admixture manufacturer Oscrete has doubled its customer trials following a significant investment in its expanded and upgraded laboratory.

Oscrete’s enhanced, secure laboratory with a dedicated office tests admixtures to evaluate and optimise their effects on concrete’s properties.

The 100m² lab in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, now includes two mixing bays, a separate area for wet production, a clean area for new product development (NPD) and space for onsite customer training.

Oscrete’s Technical and Development Manager, Dean Clarke, said: “In addition to evaluating our admixtures with customers’ materials, the lab also plays a key role in evaluating cement and additives that help reduce the carbon footprint. The facility is central to our ongoing research and development efforts, driving innovation in new admixtures products.”

He added: “Since the lab completed at the start of 2025, we have already doubled the number of trials completed in the same period last year and we now have capacity to double this again as we continue to meet customer demand for bespoke and specialist projects.”

Oscrete is one of the UK’s leading specialist construction chemical suppliers, manufacturing a comprehensive range of concrete admixtures for the pre-cast and ready-mix market and developing and supplying additives for the manufacture of dry bagged mortars and adhesives.

The new, advanced lab is a full concrete testing facility, ensuring products meet the requirements of BS and EN standards. In use up to six days a week, the facility is already adding value to Oscrete’s customer relationships and outputs.

Director Scott Wilson said: “Our concrete lab is at the very heart of our business which serves our customers by problem solving, adding value and producing first class results. We are delighted we now have an expanded lab facility which helps us to build on these strengths and ensure even more of our customers can benefit from our expertise – quickly and effectively.”

He added: “Our aim is to bring product and construction goals to life and we are delighted that with our expanded lab facility, we can continue do this at scale as well as giving our customers more opportunities to visit us, train with us and learn from our experienced and dedicated team.”
