A senior Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) figure has outlined the policy priorities the association is advocating for during 2022.
In an open address to members, Kip Eideberg, AEM senior vice president, Government and Industry Relations, said: “Every day, the men and women of the equipment manufacturing industry roll up their sleeves and go to work making the equipment that build, power and feed the world. And every day, the AEM Advocacy Team rolls up our sleeves to serve them. Our mission is to help equipment manufacturers of every size, sector, and region drive a vibrant, growing economy that creates opportunity and supports family-sustaining jobs for the 2.8 million men and women of our industry.”
Eideberg says that as elected officials continue to address the many challenges facing America, the AEM Advocacy Team is in Washington D.C. and state capitals across America relentlessly championing the $288 billion equipment manufacturing industry.
He continued: “Earlier this year, the Government and Public Affairs Committee approved AEM’s policy priorities for 2022 , and today we are pleased to share the highlights with our member companies. The 2022 policy priorities booklet was developed to help inform state and federal lawmakers about the policies needed to drive a safe and strong economic recovery so that equipment manufacturers can do what they do best: invest in their communities, grow their businesses and hire more Americans.
“We believe that the Biden administration and Congress can support long-term economic growth and create more opportunity for all Americans by investing in our infrastructure, improving worker training and education, and maintaining a competitive tax environment. Prioritising these needs will ensure equipment manufacturers are able to grow through exports and trade on a level playing field around the world, all while strengthening rural America.”
Eideberg invited AEM members and potential new AEM members to “ review our policy agenda and join us as we advocate for pro-manufacturing policies”.
He invited those with questions about AEM policy priorities or keen to lend their voice to the association’s advocacy efforts to reach out to AEM’s Advocacy Team .
