Powerscreen has signed DUO Africa as its first distributor in Ghana, and has completed a deal to supply three crushing and screening trains. DUO Africa will sell equipment into Ghana and support Powerscreen products in the sub-Saharan region. Among its first contracts is to supply two Powerscreen XA400 primary jaw crushers, two 1000 Maxtrak cone crushers and two Chieftain 2100 triple-deck screens to UK-based Hawk Plant for a number of aggregate crushing operations in Sierra Leone.

“Powerscreen continues to strengthen its global distributor network with the signing of DUO Africa in Ghana,” said Colin Clements, international sales director.

DUO has been an existing Powerscreen distributor in the UK for more than 25 years, and also represents other Terex product lines including Terex Mineral Processing Systems and Terex Washing Systems.

DUO CEO Alex Moss said: “Our Ghanaian office and service centre will carry comprehensive stock of Powerscreen spares and will be supported by a team of experienced service engineers.”

Paul Allman, director-general manager at Hawk Plant said: “We won a contract to manage a number of quarries in Sierra Leone producing aggregates, and crushing equipment was pivotal to the operation. We also required excellent parts and service facilities.”
