Powerscreen exhibited its Trakpactor 320 impact crusher; Warrior 2400 screen and Warrior 800 screen at the inaugural bauma Africa in conjunction with South African Distributor ELB Equipment in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The company used the show to launch its newly-painted machines, a “rugged new look that maintains the traditional Powerscreen green colour while adopting a dark grey colour on the chassis and conveyors.”
According to Powerscreen, the new paint scheme provides an updated, modern look to the machines.
The first machine to be enhanced with the new colour scheme was the Trakpactor 320 on display, which was sold to Mr Hein Senekal of Warthog Carriers CC, an ELB customer for 20 years who owns a fleet of Powerscreen machines.
He said: “ELB has a knowledgeable sales team and provides great service to their customers. I am delighted to own the first two-tone machine anywhere in the world.”
The Trakpactor 320 is a mid-sized horizontal impact crusher with an potential of up to 320tonnes/hour; the Powerscreen Warrior 800 is a multi-purpose, heavy duty incline two-deck screen, capable of stockpiling, three-way splitting or scalping before and after the crushing units, while the Powerscreen Warrior 2400 screen is specially designed for large-scale operators in the quarrying and mining sectors.
At the event, Northern Ireland Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster announced that Powerscreen in Dungannon is implementing a bold strategy for faster growth in Africa.
The Minister said the company had strengthened its position in South Africa and was also now focusing on growth in Ghana and other neighbouring markets.
Minister Foster said: “Powerscreen already has a very strong presence and significant sales in South Africa and is planning to expand business through a series of profile raising initiatives.
“In addition, the company has linked up with DUO Africa, based at Dawena, Ghana, to develop sales in this and other developing markets in Sub Saharan Africa.
“These are important initiatives by Powerscreen that positions this substantial local company to exploit the huge opportunities now developing across the continent particularly in sectors such as infrastructure, construction, quarrying and mining.”
