President urged to meet protestors amid Indonesia cement plant standoff

A farmer from Indonesia’s Kendeng Mountain Community Care Network has reportedly asked to meet with the country’s president, Joko Widodo, regarding the damages to the Mountain due to the proposed construction of a cement plant in Kendeng, Rembang in Central Java. Joko Prianto is among those at the forefront of the protest against the development of the cement plant by Semen Indonesia. Nine protestors staged demonstration in front of the presidential palace on 13 April by cementing their legs.
