US company Rice Lake Weighing Systems’ Arnhem, Holland-based European division, Rice Lake Weighing Systems Europe, has acquired the Dutch belt-scale manufacturer Master Engineering of nearby Heteren.

Rice Lake says that Throughout The Netherlands and Belgium, Master Engineering has grown to become a key systems and solutions provider of static and dynamic weighing, batching and dosing systems. Rice Lake plans to retain all existing Master Engineering employees and continue manufacturing as normal, while relocating its Arnhem operations to the Master Engineering facility in Heteren.

Rice Lake Weighing Systems Europe opened in 2011 with the goal of better serving Rice Lake’s existing European customer base. The acquisition works well for the company’s long-term growth and expansion plans within Europe as it enhances Rice Lake’s core competencies and establishes a manufacturing presence within the EU.

The acquisition also expands the current distribution network for both companies, and Rice Lake says it looks forward to continued growth and expansion within the European market.

A family-owned company, Rice Lake Weighing Systems is a ISO 9001 certified corporation has it headquarters, metrology laboratory and main manufacturing plant in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, USA, with support facilities throughout the world including North America, South America, India and the Netherlands.
