Komatsu is now offering excavators factory-prepared for Plug & Play with tiltrotators from Rototilt.
“Komatsu’s choice of Rototilt as their first integrated tiltrotator is the result of close collaboration. Since September 2025, Komatsu’s all-new PC220LC/LCi-12 has been available with factory-installed preparation for tiltrotators from Rototilt.
“The technicians at Komatsu have extremely high competence, and through a productive collaboration, we managed to develop a truly quality-assured, factory-integrated Plug & Play solution. The tiltrotator system can be adapted to the contractor’s needs and preferences, for example, with the hydraulic quick coupler QuickChange,” says Stefan Bergström.
Stefan Bergström believes that the development is generally moving towards a growing market demand for this type of integrated solution, especially now that the interest in tiltrotators is increasing worldwide.
”In Scandinavia, tiltrotators have long been the standard, but we are also seeing steady growth in Europe, Asia, and other parts of the world. More and more people are discovering that our tiltrotators make excavators safer and more efficient, with better precision and lower energy consumption. This makes the timing perfect for Komatsu to now offer this solution to its customers”, he says.

“As a result, the new PC220LC/LCi-12 requires only a small number of connections between the machine, the tiltrotator, and the controller. In addition, the machine also features programmable control levers featuring integrated tiltrotator functionality as standard,” explains Macintyre.
The new ‘intelligent Machine Control 3.0’ on the PC220LCi-12 combines easy integration and unique tiltrotator control features. Not only can the system control rotation and tilting, but it also includes posture hold control, which automatically maintains attachment orientation, making digging and grading with a tiltrotator easier for the operator.
