The Russia-based SU-155 group of companies has acquired Polotnyano-Zavodskoe Kareroupravlenie (PZK) in the central Kaluga region in a €9.55 million (RUB 390mn) deal.

The purchased plant capacity is around 1millionm³ of broken stone and 350,000m³ of mineral filler per annum. Mineral filler is used for asphalt concrete mixes and fertilizers. SU-155 is going to invest additional funds in modernisation and build a cement plant via the facilities of the quarry.

The group says it will decrease house-building costs in the Moscow region by strengthening its construction material sector. Broken stone produced at PZK (reserves for 20 years) will, says SU-155, satisfy road construction needs in the Kaluga region.

The company will also participate in projects in New Moscow.
