Sandvik Mining and Construction has added another breaker featuring improved functionality to its product line up with the launch of the BR2577. The new 1.7tonne unit is designed for use with carriers in the 23 to 28tonne weight class and replaces the BR2568 unit (previously E68).

Sandvik Mining and Construction has added another breaker featuring improved functionality to its product line up with the launch of the BR2577. The new 1.7tonne unit is designed for use with carriers in the 23 to 28tonne weight class and replaces the BR2568 unit (previously E68).

The redesigned hammer features Sandvik’s Fixed Blow Energy system that helps it to deliver 450 to 750 blows per minute.

According to Sandvik, a key part of the redesign means that it is more flexible and has a range of options that can be specified at the time of purchase or retrofitted later to match the application, material and budget. Options featured under this flexible design include a safety valve to protect the breaker from poor hydraulic installation, an idle blow protector to prevent blank firing and a soft blow sensor which automatically reduces the power and frequency in softer conditions. Specification
Manufacturer: Sandvik
Model: BR2577 hydraulic breaker Operating weight: 1.7tonnes
Carrier class: 23 to 28tonnes
Impact rate: 450 to 750blows per minute Operating pressure: 135 to 145bar Maximum tool diameter: 135mm
Special features: Flexible design with retrofitting available for optional extras; Lightweight design offers high power to weight ratio; Hose protection as standard
The hammer is also available with a number of optional operational features, such as Ramlube for automatic greasing and Ramair for dust suppression, as well as monitoring systems including Ramdata for data collection and Ramona for performance monitoring and alerting.

Sandvik also said that the BR2577 benefits from a lightweight design that affords the unit a class-leading power-to-weight ratio and high productivity levels in a wide variety of demolition, recycling, quarrying and other applications. The company also added that the tool diameter of 135mm ensures optimum wear, impact and bending resistance. Hoses are protected from wear and pinching damage while a highly efficient relief valve provides extra protection to the hammer.
