SigmaRoc, the London-headquartered specialist quarried materials group, has posted a strong set of first-half trading results.

Group H1 revenue of £248mn was up 18% over 2021 on an adjusted like-for-like basis. H1 underlying EBITDA of £48m was up 6% over 2021. SigmaRoc also report continued good cash generation, with leverage within the Group’s target range.

The first-half 2022 results are said by the Group to demonstrate the effectiveness of its diversified model.

Max Vermorken, CEO of SigmaRoc, said: “To state the obvious, this was a first half unlike any other, yet the Group performed extremely well. Input cost increases were managed, and further cost reduction initiatives were implemented.

“We closed H1 2022 with a strong performance and remain encouraged by the demand outlook in all segments for the months ahead. Our focus remains squarely on developing our Group in terms of products and geography, and we remain very confident in delivering good financial and strategic progress both in the current year and over the medium term.”

SigmaRoc’s impressive H1 2022 trading results follow last year’s major strategic progress with four acquisitions, including the Group’s largest to date, the creation of a joint venture with Carrières du Boulonnais, the launch of Greenbloc technology, the establishment of the new Benelux aggregate platform integrating GduH, B-Mix & Casters, and the launch of a new North European materials platform through the purchase of Nordkalk for €470 million.
