Austria’s Strabag SE is launching an asphalt and concrete mixing plant on a five hectare plot in Maxim Gorky settlement, the Volgograd region (south), Russia.
The plant, relocated from Poland, will have a capacity of 250tonnes of asphalt and concrete mix per hour. The company implemented infrastructure projects for 2012 UEFA Euro in Poland.
According to Strabag SE’s representatives in the Southern Federal District, Volgograd will be one of the first cities in Russia where noise-reducing asphalt will be produced. The company is also considering building the second similar plant in the city and arranging a mobile production unit for distant districts of the region.
Strabag plans major repairs of a section of the Kamyshin Highway worth €16.97 million and is ready to invest in reconstruction of the First and the Second linear highways (the longest roads in Volgograd). In the future, the regional budget is supposed to return the funds but the regional authorities have not made any decision on the issue yet.
