Cemex UK has confirmed it is undertaking a divestment of its Wick Flooring operation as it continues to progress its strategic plan.
The company has struck a deal with Treanor Pujol for the Wick Flooring operation, which specialises in precast concrete flooring solutions for the domestic construction market in the UK.
“This divestment represents a strategic step forward for both organisations: Cemex UK will continue to supply cement and aggregates to the Wick site, and Treanor Pujol will gain a high-performing manufacturing facility with a strong customer base and consistent demand in the domestic construction market,” Cemex UK said in its release.
“Cemex would like to take this opportunity to thank the employees transferring to Treanor Pujol for their commitment to Cemex.
“Cemex remains committed to evolving its UK and European operations to better serve key markets, particularly in metropolitan areas, while maintaining its focus on safety, sustainability, and operational excellence.”
The Wick facility manufactures prestressed T-beams using wetcast moulds, aligning with Treanor Pujol’s product range. It also adds a manufacturing facility to Treanor Pujol’s operational network in the south of the UK.
“This is a milestone step in Treanor Pujol’s evolution, and it builds directly on the efforts, dedication and professionalism across our existing sites in Leeds, Mansfield and Mollerussa,” Treanor Pujol said.
