Sublime Systems has unveiled a new chief executive officer, executive chair and board member in an executive shuffle for the US-based company.
Sublime Systems has promoted chief operating officer Rob Davies to the position of chief executive officer, while Bill Brady is now the executive chair after previously serving as a board member, and Dr Brian Baynes is the newest addition to the board.
While Davies will take on the CEO title, he said that co-founder and former CEO Dr Leah Ellis will remain “actively engaged” with the company.
“Leah’s vision to reshape cement production brought together a remarkable team and ecosystem of partners, and is what first drew me to Sublime over a year ago,” he said.
“I am honoured to partner with the Sublime leadership to apply my manufacturing experience and realise the company’s vision through this next phase of commercial growth and industrial expansion.”
Sublime was formed in 2020 after being spun out from the lab of Sublime Systems co-founder, MIT professor Yet-Ming Chiang. Ellis then oversaw a period of considerable growth for the company as it began pilot operations, secured investment and signed up co-development partners.
Davies brings a great deal of experience from across the construction materials sector to the role. He has previously held key roles with Blue Circle, Lafarge and current Sublime strategic partner Holcim. He led a series of cement plants across the UK and also spent 12 years in the global chemical industry, including running activated carbon plants and carbon black facilities.
“I am excited for the next chapter for Sublime Systems, a company I had the great pleasure of leading over the last five years, in part due to Rob and the wonderful team of professionals we have assembled,” Ellis said.
