Tarmac has announced that it has taken full ownership of Tendley Quarries Ltd, following its previous operation as a joint venture.
The change in ownership means Tarmac will supply customers and major projects across the Cumbria region. It will also leverage Tarmac’s range of sustainable supply capabilities.
The acquisition of Tendley Quarries Ltd includes a limestone quarry and asphalt plant at Tendley, and a sand and gravel quarry at Peel Place.
“We are excited about the potential this acquisition brings to our operations and the communities we serve,” Tarmac managing director for the North and Scotland region Shaun Davidson said.
“This move will enable us to better support key projects and enhance our sustainable service delivery in the region.”
In its release, Tarmac reiterated it is commited to fostering strong partnerships with local communities.
“We will continue to work closely with community stakeholders to ensure that our operations benefit the local economy and environment and contribute to the overall well-being of the communities surrounding our quarries,” the company said in its release.
