Tarmac, the UK’s largest quarry company, says it has become the first company in its sector to secure a new prestigious five-star rating from Achilles BuildingConfidence.
BuildingConfidence is an independent third-party accreditation scheme which validates supply chain management, health and safety, responsible sourcing and environmental performance.
The five-star rating is an incentive and a guide for certified Achilles BuildingConfidence suppliers, enabling them to understand how they perform against the accreditation standards.
The aim is to drive higher levels of compliance and encourage companies to improve their rating against that of their peers.
Five stars are only awarded to suppliers who comply with all aspects of the certification process for two or more successive years.
