All of the new employees were previously working on Carillion/Tarmac joint venture highways projects including the Finningley and Rossington Regeneration Route Scheme, A50 Growth Corridor and the Eastern Highways Alliance.
These schemes are ongoing and are being delivered by Tarmac and its supply chain partners. Tarmac’s efforts to support former Carillion staff into new roles will help the company ensure continuity and continued delivery of critical highways projects for its customers.

As a former apprentice myself, it’s particularly pleasing to be able to welcome some apprentices, especially as our 2018 apprenticeship scheme is about to be launched. These new colleagues will help us provide reassurance to customers and the public that important infrastructure projects will continue to be delivered on schedule.”
The former Carillion apprentices will all join Tarmac’s industry-leading apprenticeship scheme which offers one to four-year dedicated training programmes across all parts of its business. The aim will be to ensure there is continuity where possible of training for each apprentice.
In addition to these new recruits, Tarmac is encouraging former Carillion employees who have been made redundant to monitor its website for new job vacancies and make contact if they have relevant skills, particularly in quantity surveying and project management.
