Terex Materials Processing (Terex MP) has reported Q4 2019 sales of US$321.4 million, down 10.2% compared to the same quarter of 2018.

The sales dip was said to be due to cautious customer sentiment. However, the final quarter of 2019 was solid enough for Terex MP, who achieved 12% operating margins, despite challenging markets. Global Terex MP backlog totaled $295 million and bookings in the quarter were $352 million.

A Terex Corporation business segment that includes the brands Terex Finlay, Powerscreen, Terex MPS, EvoQuip, Terex Washing Systems, Terex Ecotec, Fuchs, CBI, Terex Bid-Well, Terex Advance and Franna Pick & Carry Cranes, Terex MP’s products and services include crushing and screening machines, material handlers, cement mixer trucks, and pick and carry equipment.

Commenting on the Q4 2019 trading figures, Kieran Hegarty, Terex MP president, said: “The Terex MP team continues to expand its penetration into emerging markets for environmental and mobile crushing and screening equipment. Also, Terex MP is well positioned heading into 2020 with its new product offerings. One example is OMNI by Terex, which is a new, first-of-its kind innovation that improves efficiency and reduces the risk of injury on crushing and screening jobsites. OMNI and all of Terex MP’s industry leading innovation will be on display at ConExpo.”

Terex Corporation posted fourth quarter 2019 net sales of $885.0 million, down 15.6% on Q4 2018.

“Our fourth quarter operating results were generally in-line with our expectations on lower revenue and reflect continued challenging global market conditions for industrial equipment,” said John L. Garrison, Jr., Terex chairman and CEO.
