Terex Trucks has presented Hills Machinery with its Top Dealer Award, after the company sold more articulated haulers than any other dealer and increased its market share.

Every year, Terex ships a proportion of its TA300 and TA400 articulated haulers from its Motherwell facility in Scotland to customers across North America.

Hills Machinery is Terex’s dealer in North and South Carolina.

Terex says Hills machinery has taken a considerable amount of trucks to meet customer demand, resulting in a market share improvement of around 80% in its territories.

Hills Machinery co-founder Jim Hills says: “Since Volvo Construction Equipment took ownership of Terex Trucks, there has been huge investment in the products and they’re now producing great articulated dump trucks. The latest trucks are robust, reliable and perform well in whatever conditions you put them in. They are good value for money, simple to operate and easy to maintain. All of this, together with a generous warranty and both ours and Terex Trucks’ strong commitment to product support and parts availability, makes a very attractive offer for customers – I think that’s why we’ve seen such a strong increase in demand for the trucks.”

Hills Machinery has eight locations across the Carolinas and around 130 employees. The dealership supplies complementary construction equipment as well as attachments and ground engaging tools.

The territory includes coastal lowlands in which the trucks operate in wet conditions and mountains.

According to Terex, the trucks carry heavy loads up and down steep gradients, allowing Hills Machinery to serve customers in the construction and mining industries.

Robert Franklin, sales & marketing director Americas at Terex Trucks, says:  “We want to grow our business in the region and reach new customers, which is exactly what Hills Machinery is helping us achieve.”

“Since we started working with Terex Trucks, customer feedback has been exceptional,” Hills continues. “Our customers tell us that the trucks help them to make more money through their reliability, fuel efficiency and low total cost of ownership.”

The TA300 and TA400 are sold with a three-year warranty, telematics and planned maintenance included as standard.

Both haulers meet Tier 4 Final emission standards without a diesel particulate filter, which is achieved via the selective catalytic reduction technology, combined with exhaust gas regeneration and a variable geometry turbo, reducing fuel consumption and operational costs.
