Leading concrete and aggregates company, Tudor Griffiths of Ellesmere, County Shropshire, England, has acquired from Cemex UK, four established ready-mix concrete plants in Mid and North Wales.

The plants are located at Aberystwyth, Bangor, Newtown and Wrexham.  All existing operations, assets and staff at each of the four Cemex plants have been transferred to the new owner, Tudor Griffiths.

Tudor Griffiths, managing director of the Tudor Griffiths Group, said:  “We are very enthusiastic about the prospects for these four plants and the benefits they will bring to our group’s portfolio. The purchase greatly enhances our existing ready-mix operations within the area.

The addition of the four batching plants to the existing Tudor Griffiths Group’s network of eight ready-mix outlets means that virtually any location within the whole of North and Mid Wales, County Cheshire and North Shropshire, would be within 38km of a TG concrete plant.

Griffiths said that he was sure that the new focus that has been created by the addition of the four plants and the operational support from the expanded network will bring significant benefits to the group’s existing and potential customers.

“The newly-expanded network will greatly enhance our customer service,” he said.
