Terex Washing Systems (TWS), which recently gave world premieres to two new models, says it is responding to increased washing enquiries and demand in the Gulf region. A Gulf region sales manager provides a dedicated line of support for both the TWS distributor network and customers. The five dedicated distributors are in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, UAE and Qatar.

To date TWS says it has installed a number of static, modular and mobile plants in the Gulf region, which are processing crushed quarry stone to produce high quality sand, typically sized 0-5mm, 5-12mm and 12-22mm. The most popular concepts have been the Finesmaster Compact and Bucketwheel sand plant ranges for single and double grade sand applications.

TWS says that both ranges are particularly suited to high wearing abrasive sands as the buckets reduce wear on the rubber-lined centrifugal pump and in the case of the Finesmaster, reduces wear on the cyclones.  The company also reports increased interest in its modular washing concepts, particularly the newest solutions, such as the AggreSand and AggreScrub ranges.

At the recent Hillhead quarry show in England, TWS gave world premieres to its Terex AggreScrub 150 washing unit and the new larger Terex AggreSand  206  washing system while showcasing the AggreSand 165 wash plant.

The AggreScrub 150, designed to deal with stubborn clay bound material which cannot be removed by rinsing or screening alone. It can operate as a stand-alone unit or seamlessly integrate with the AggreSand.

The AggreSand 206 is the larger model of the recently launched AggreSand 165 (up to 250tonnes/hour) model and has greater capacity, up to 400tonnes/hour.

“Increased enquiries and demand is ultimately being driven by the returned growth in the GCC civil construction market, with a total US$59 billion in contracts awarded last year, a level not seen since 2008,” according to MEED Insight’s GCC Construction Report 2014.
