The announcement was made during the recent Hillhead 2014 quarry show in Buxton, northern England, by Colin Jenkins, president of the Institute of Quarrying. He was joined onstage by Paul Kersley, director of service & engineering at Volvo CE, who underlined how delighted both he and the company were to be working with the Institute through both the CPC scheme and PRIME.
Paul Kersley spoke about how Volvo CE – as a key supplier to the industry – sees the importance of individual learning and development as being vital to ensuring that customer needs are both met and exceeded. He also explained how these schemes confirmed both Volvo CE’s and the Institute’s commitment towards securing competence for future business needs, including raising the profile of professions within the industry to help attract the stars of the future.
