Weir has confirmed details regarding a strategic partnership with thickening technology specialists MINEXXT Inc.
Under the terms of the agreement, Weir will integrate MINEXXT’s thickening technology into its porfolio of tailings solutions. MINEXXT’s technology will enable Weir to support customers who need access to thickened and paste tailings solutions.
Weir global tailing process director Erik Volt said the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to sustainable tailings management.
“The value of this cooperation agreement lies in having access to exceptional, world class thickening technology. Thickening will remain important as part of tailings flowsheets and the challenge around thickening of fines and ultra fines can be addressed with MINEXXT patented feedwell technology,” he said.
The partnership is already operational with the two organisations working on projects in Australia and Kazakhstan.
MINEXXT Inc managing director Mike Cook said further opportunities will be looked at as the partnership develops.
