XCMG picked up one first prize, three second prizes, and six third prizes from its 10 entries to the recent highly coveted 2016 China Machinery Industry Science & Technology Awards. The 2016 Awards’ jury committee presented a total of 344 prizes, including one Grand Prize, 35 first prizes and 119 second prizes. The 2016 Awards’ jury committee presented a total of 344 prizes, including one Grand Prize, 35 first prizes and 119 second prizes.
Chinese construction, quarrying and mining equipment giant XCMG won a first prize for its ‘Research and Industrialised Application of the Core Technology of Hydraulic Walking Excavators’ entry from the company’s road machinery business.
XCMG received second prizes for projects titled:
‘Research and Industrialized Application of the Core Technology of Efficient and Environmental-protecting Pneumatic Conveying in Construction Machinery’ by XCMG Construction Machinery Research Institute and XCMG Environment
‘Research and Industrialised Application of Overloading Transportation of Large-scale All-ground Cranes Technology’ by XCMG Heavy Machinery
‘Research and Industrialized Application of Self-adaptive Steering for the High-speed and Multi-axis Vehicles Technology’ by XCMG Heavy Machinery.

According to the evaluation panels, the entries submitted by XCMG for their review reached the international advanced level. With its technological strength developed and accumulated through cutting-edge technologies, XCMG can lay claim to a significant role in promoting scientific and technological progress in the industry and advancing the construction of the Chinese economy.
The Grand Prize winning project in the 2016 China Machinery Industry Science & Technology Awards went to an entry titled ‘Diesel Methanol Compound Combustion Technology’ from Professor Yao Chunde and his team at Tianjin University’s School of Mechanical Engineering.
