Colombia's industry watchdog (SIC) has denied registration of the brand Colclinker, submitted by local cement company Compania Colombiana de Clincker.
The brand was intended to identify products under class 2 of the International Nice Classification.
Colombian ceramics company Corona had opposed the request due to similarities between the two brands' logos, although SIC ruled that there was no risk of confusion.
SIC concluded that the Colclinker brand could not be registered because an identical brand had already been registered by Cementos Argos.
