Working in all weather and ground conditions for up to eight hours daily, Ferrand TP's two Rokbak articulated haulers are tasked with moving earth and construction materials on French job sites. For more than 20 years, the family-owned public works company has been carrying out earthworks and network installations in and around Southeast France. Located in Alby-sur-Chéran in Haute Savoie, the company has been putting its pair of RA30 trucks to work on various jobs and has seen good productivity, uptime and profitability results.

Ferrand TP serves various customers, including construction companies, public works departments and individual contractors. It has built a strong reputation for its expertise, reliability and quality of service. The company is known for providing customised solutions to meet clients' specific needs and is well-regarded for high-quality equipment and commitment to customer satisfaction.

“We generally work on earthworks projects intended for housing and buildings,” says Remy Ferrand, one of the directors at Ferrand TP, alongside his brother David. “Our RA30 ADTs go everywhere – whether that be in dry, wet, muddy or uneven conditions. They are simple to operate, robust and very effective at getting the job done. With the Haul Track telematics system, we have easy access to data such as how many times the body has been lifted, so we know how much material has been transported.”

Haul Track helps customers manage their operating costs by monitoring everything from fuel consumption to problems that, if neglected, could lead to unplanned downtime. It highlights key information such as real-time machine location, sub-optimal travel speed, dump counts, load cycles, temperatures and pressures. Owners can proactively monitor the health of various machine systems via easily understandable diagnostic and preventative maintenance data. They can also view critical information whenever system fault codes are triggered.

With the capacity to transport a payload of up to 28 mt (30.9 t), a maximum engine power of 276 kW (370 hp), a heaped capacity of 17.5mᶟ (22.9ydᶟ), and a maximum torque of 1880 Nm @ 1400 rpm, the RA30 efficiently transports loads with optimal traction in difficult terrain and on steep inclines.

“The RA30 delivers a pleasant and smooth ride,” says Remy. “It is a powerful and stable truck to operate. Rokbak is a brand that keeps its promises, and it continues to develop the trucks.”

Griset Matériel, a family-run Rokbak dealer specialising in selling, after-sales service, and repairing machinery for the Rhône-Alpes region in France, sold the two Rokbak units to Ferrand TP. The RA30s were delivered in January 2022, just five months after the Rokbak launch.

“The visuals and new colours of the Rokbak brand give the trucks a distinctive, powerful appearance that has proven popular,” explains Griset Matériel General Director Roland Griset. “Ferrand TP has been using the trucks for 18 months now, and the team there are very pleased with the quality and the reliability of the machines, as well as the new look of the Rokbak brand.”
