Mining and quarrying applications are the main targets for 411 Doosan's latest wheeled loader launch, according to the company.

The 4m3 bucket DL420 has been unveiled as the replacement for the DL400 and is claimed to offer advances in terms of handling, power, serviceability and durability.

The 22.3tonne DL420 is powered by a 10.8litre six cylinder 410 Cummins QSM11 engine with a high pressure unit injector system, which delivers fuel consumption levels 7% lower than the DL400. The machine features two working modes and four travel speed ranges that help to optimise the fuel consumption and productivity.

According to Doosan, the breakout force is among the highest in its category at 210kN, an important feature for a machine of this Z kinematic class, providing a higher stripping force when working in the hardest materials. The DL420 offers a static tipping load with bucket of 18.9tonnes (at maximum reach with a straight frame) and a height at bucket pivot point of 4.35m. Equipped with a pin-on bucket with teeth and tipped forward at 45°, the dump height is 2.96m and the dump reach is 1.40m.
