Doosan launches new excavator

Doosan Infracore Construction Equipment has launched the new Stage IIIB compliant DX380LC-3 large crawler excavator in the 34-42tonne market segment. A new joggle/shuttle control is said to be a “worldwide exclusive” feature on new generation Doosan excavators, and the DX380LC-3 is said to offer up to 22% increase in productivity (m3) to fuel consumption ratio; 23% more pump flow; 15% increase in drawbar pull; a 15% increase in front lifting capacity and new optional narrow (3m) undercarriage. 411 Doosan Infracore Construction Equipment has launched the new Stage IIIB compliant DX380LC-3 large crawler excavator in the 34-42tonne market segment.

The DX380LC-3 excavator is powered by the Doosan DL08K common rail six-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine meeting Stage IIIB engine emission regulations through the use of EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) and diesel particulate filter (DPF) after-treatment technologies.

The operating weight of the DX380LC-3 excavator has been increased by 3.5 % to 39.2tonnes and the counterweight has been increased by 300kg to 7,400kg.

The heavy duty undercarriage on the DX380LC-3 excavator is the same as that used in the larger >40tonne class DX420LC model with reinforced track links, track springs and sprockets as well as a more robust boom and arm with reinforced bushings. As a result, the service life of the machine has been extended significantly.

A new ROPS and OPG certified cab offers more 6% more space for the operator and direct control is through the joysticks, which have new proportional thumb wheel switches and integrated buttons, provides precise, proportional control of attachments.

All functions can be controlled both from the instrument panel as well as via the new jog/shuttle control next to the joystick.

A new cab suspension system helps to cut vibration by 20% and reduce the noise in the cab to as low as 71dB(A).
