A Bespoke packaging solution
Haver & Boecker developed a bespoke packaging solution for Gandl.

One of Haver & Boecker's packing machines has proven its capabilities in a new application working in Bavaria-based Gandl Natursteine's quarry. The company has been using the Haver-FFS Alpha to package its natural stone products - the first time the equipment has been used in this way.

Gandl produces a range of products from granite, porphyry, quartzite, quartz sandstone, marble, slate, dolomite, shell limestone, basalt and limestone in a rnage of different sizes. It was this broad range of product that presented Haver's engineers with a challenge - they needed to ensure the machine could fully automate filling and packing of fine sand, pea-stone, fine gravel and coarse natural stone (up to 60 mm) via selectable sort adjustment. The automation also had to cope with the range of different packaging that the different products are sold in.

Haver worked with film manufacturer RKW and conveyor supplier 390 Beumer to develop the solution, which is now installed and working well on site.
