Indonesia: Conch plans to produce 10mn tonnes of cement/year

According to the sale representative of Conch South Kalimantan Cement (Conch), Ihan M Palla, the Chinese cement producer plans to produce 10 million tonnes of cement/year in Indonesia. It is developing five cement producing facilities in the country. The plant in Tanung Tabalong started production in January, 2015 while three plants are being developed in Merak, Banten; Manokwari, West Papua, and Maros, south Sulawesi. According to the sale representative of Conch South Kalimantan Cement (Conch), Ihan M Palla, the Chinese cement producer plans to produce 10 million tonnes of cement/year in Indonesia.

It is developing five cement producing facilities in the country.

The plant in Tanung Tabalong started production in January, 2015 while three plants are being developed in Merak, Banten; Manokwari, West Papua, and Maros, south Sulawesi.

The location of the fifth project has yet to be disclosed.

The plant in Tanjung Tabalong has a daily capacity of 30,000tonnes and cost some US$500,000 (€477,000).

The next project to be completed will be the plant in Manokwari which will have a daily capacity of 64,000tonnes and is targeted to be completed in three years.

The Chinese company sells its cement under the Conch brand.
