Sivyer currently handles roughly one million tons of materials per year, using state-of-the-art recycling and recovery technologies to recover over 500,000 tons of recycled aggregates and manufactured soils. Holcim says the acquisition represents a further step toward driving circular construction to make cities more sustainable.

Miljan Gutovic, Holcim region head Europe, said: “Sivyer Logistics is an excellent addition to help us drive circular construction and reach our Group target of recycling 10 million tons of construction and demolition waste by 2025. I look forward to welcoming all employees of Sivyer Logistics and investing in our next era of growth together.”

Sivyer Logistics was founded in 1862. With six facilities across the capital, Sivyer Logistics’ services include waste management, vehicle logistics, manufactured soils, primary and recycled aggregates and ready-mix concrete.

Dragan Maksimovic, CEO of Aggregate Industries UK, said: “Sivyer Logistics is an impressive business that has multiple synergies with our own. This acquisition is positioning us at the forefront of circular construction, driving our ambition to build new from the old. We have an ambitious strategy to grow our CDW and circular economy operations by 2025, and the acquisition of Sivyer provides us with enhanced expertise, facilities and products as we continue to strive to become the UK’s leading supplier of sustainable construction materials and solutions.”

Simon Sivyer, MD at Sivyer Logistics, commented: “We have a long heritage going back to 1862, and we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved as a business to date. We’re delighted to be beginning this next chapter of our story and are looking forward to continued growth in the London area and beyond with Aggregate Industries’ backing.”

Holcim says the acquisition will advance the ambitious sustainability targets of its “Strategy 2025 – Accelerating Green Growth,” especially its target to recycle 10 million tons of construction and demolition waste in its products by 2025.
