The Cobra 290 impact crusher and Colt 1000 scalping screen are said to be an ideal working combination for smaller crushing and screening quarry and C&D waste recycling business operators and contractors.
Joining the new prototype machine duo at the recent event were the Bison 280 jaw crusher; the Cobra 230R impact crusher, the recirculating version of the Cobra 230 launched in H2 2017, and the Colt 600 scalping screen.

“These models are very much suited to buildings and highways contractors. They are easy and cheaper to move as a number of them can be containerised, so they don’t require the permits needed to transport larger models,” he said.
“They also offer lower fuel consumption than larger crushers and screens. Customers like both those elements, and the fact that the equipment can process high volumes of material every hour. As we say to people, EvoQuip equipment is compact with impact.
“The EvoQuip models are also great for concrete, asphalt and C&D waste recycling. You can crush material on-site and put it back as a base or sub-base. This means you have no material transport costs.”
The EvoQuip brand was launched two years ago and has seen huge growth in sales.
“We had a successful 2017, and forecast a 55% increase in machine sales in 2018,” explains Conway.

Capable of processing up to 300tonnes/hour of material, depending on application, the new Cobra 290 is EvoQuip’s largest impact crusher.
Its 1,000mm diameter rotor allows for a larger sized initial feed material, and customers can opt for an optional innovative under-pan feeder, offering the customer full belt protection during heavy and contaminated recycling applications.
In keeping with the EvoQuip ethos, the Colt 1000 scalping screen offers a compact footprint and can process over 400tonnes/hour of material, depending on application.
It is powered by the Tier IV Cat C4.4, a 55kW power plant that drives a single triple-pump delivering power to all systems onboard.
The Colt 1000’s controls are similar to the Colt 800, as is much of the componentry and service items, and helpfully the Colt 1000 will not burden a dealer or end user with an extensive list of service or wear parts.
The Colt 600 scalping screen, a 12tonne double-deck screen, is capable of processing up to 280tonnes/hour of material, and is powered by a Tier 4 Final
It accommodates a wide range of screen media (top deck: bofer deck, fingers, punch plate and mesh; bottom deck: mesh and fingers).
The autumn 2017-relaunched Bison
280 compact tracked crusher features the proven Terex 900mm x 600mm single toggle jaw crusher.
The model’s fuel efficient 1,800rpm engine and direct drive system powers the crusher, which has an optional crusher unblock, giving the customer the ability to reverse the crusher to clear a blockage as well as being able to run in reverse permanently for sticky applications such as asphalt.
Like the Bison 280, the rapid set-up time and intuitive control system of the Cobra 230R enables the operator to be crushing minutes after unloading the machine, and once crushing it provides productivity rates of up to 250tonnes/hour depending on feed material and apron settings.
To help achieve this performance, the Cobra 230R uses a fuel efficient and high-performing direct drive system to power its crushing capability, and key to this is a 194kW
Like all EvoQuip crushing and screening models, serviceability has been integral throughout the design and development of the Cobra 230R, with ground level access to the engine, hydraulics, and service and refuelling points ensuring easy maintenance. This is further enhanced with features such as the hydraulic raise and lower after-screen, hinged radiator pack and hinged diesel tank.
