Next-Gen Finlay jaw crushers redefine crushing efficiency

Finlay is introducing two new mobile jaw crushers - the J-1170+ and J-1170AS+. Both models are said to offer significant upgrades over their predecessors (J-1170 and J-1170AS) to offer customers dynamic, efficient solutions for diverse materials processing needs.

Finlay mobile jaw crushers are renowned for their capabilities in reducing and sizing aggregates for construction materials and recycling construction waste. The J-1170+ provides high production capacity with large reduction ratios, whereas the J-1170AS+ provides the flexibility of a jaw crushing and screening plant on one machine.

The most significant upgrade of both machines is the new Terex 1100mm x 700mm (44" x 28") jaw crushing chamber that delivers impressive capacity and significant reduction ratios. The jaw chamber can be configured specifically for construction and demolition waste (R variant) or quarrying and mining applications (A variant). Both variants have a high-powered hydrostatic drive to provide precise chamber control and reverse functionality for clearing blockages and assisting in sticky and difficult applications, such as asphalt recycling.

Other upgrades to the chamber achieve higher compression strength ratings and ease of operation. The chamber has undergone a rotation accompanied by an enhanced-angle pre-screen to facilitate the smooth flow of material, the removal of fines increased throughout and a cleaner end product. Load sensing hydraulics and valve placement at a lower level simplify troubleshooting, assist in secure diagnostics, and, most importantly, enhance safety by reducing the need to work at elevated heights.

The J-1170AS+ model features a detachable on-board single deck 2.44m x 1.52m (8' X 5') sizing screen that can be removed quickly, allowing the operator to use the machine as a standard unit, giving flexibility depending on the application.

The J-1170+ and J-1170AS+ machines were tested to ensure they performed in the most demanding applications, including aggregates, mining, construction, demolition, waste, and recycling.

Alan Witherow, product & applications manager at Finlay, said: "We are excited to introduce both machines to the Finlay jaw crushing portfolio. These next-generation models are significant upgrades over their predecessors and are resetting the standard in market in terms of performance, reliability, and efficiency. Both models demonstrate our commitment to continuous innovation to meet the ever-evolving needs of our customers across the globe."

Finlay's T-Link telematics system, which includes a free seven-year data subscription, comes as standard on the J-1170+ and J-1170AS+. This added feature empowers customers to remotely connect with and keep track of their equipment, monitor work progress, manage logistics, access critical machine information, analyse and optimise machine performance and perform remote operator support. T-Link is available on PCs, smartphones, and the MyTerex customer fleet app.
