Cemex Ventures launches construction start-up competition

Cemex Ventures has launched a Construction Startup Competition to find solutions with the most potential to transform the construction industry in areas such as sustainability, supply chain and productivity.

Competition winners will get access to investment from Cemex to finance their solution, help with piloting and testing their technology in real markets, and the opportunity to pitch their solution on the biggest stage for construction investors.
 
Cemex Ventures, the venture capital arm of building materials giant Cemex, says it is looking for startups developing solutions on: decarbonisation, alternative fuels & new energy sources, sustainable materials, water conservation and environmental damage mitigation. 

Successful 2022 participants in the competition included: Akanthas, artificial gravel produced 100% from recycled plastics. Which thanks to the competitions is commercializing its product in Mexico.  

The competition is open until July 2nd. Competition partners include: Black & Veatch, Dysruptek by Haskell, NOVA by Saint Gobain and Zacua Ventures.
