6811 Rapid International, the Northern Ireland global concrete, construction and environmental industries equipment manufacturer, has paid tribute to its co-founder, Jim Lappin, who has died aged 76.

A company spokesperson said: “Jim co-founded Rapid International originally as Craigavon Engineering in 1969 alongside the late Robert (Bertie) Pickering and together they established a business that today continues to be a leading manufacturer in its industry across the globe.
 
Jim up until recently had still been involved in the business and he will be sadly missed by the whole Rapid family.

I hope you will join us in extending our sincere condolences to the Lappin family, including Jim’s wife Bessie, his son Mark (our current managing director), daughters Gillian and Allison, daughter-in-law Elaine, sons-in-law Ken and Keith, grandchildren and the whole extended Lappin family.”
