A charitable partnership between County Leicestershire, UK-based Lafarge Aggregates & Concrete UK and 6464 The Prince’s Trust has now raised over £100,000 (€125,000).

As long term supporters of the youth charity, which supports disadvantaged young people in the UK in finding work, employees at Lafarge have taken part in activities including trek challenges, car washes, cake sales, bag packing, race nights, and dress down days in order to raise the money.

Patrick George head of human resources at Lafarge, said: “We are incredibly proud of our association with The Prince’s Trust, and I think this shows through the amount of hard work and dedication our team has put into raising such an incredible amount of money for them.

“As a business, we believe that it is important to contribute to communities in which we live and work, and our partnership with The Prince’s Trust has enabled us to do this in a manner that we are sure will have positive repercussions for all involved.”

Lafarge’s total funds for The Prince’s Trust received another boost following fund-raising endeavours inspired by the UK’s great summer of sport. These included a golf day and a skydiving session.

“The support of Lafarge goes a long way to making a real difference to the lives of disadvantaged young people across the region. We are so grateful to the efforts of everyone involved in raising this wonderful sum. They have each made a really valuable contribution towards giving these young people an incredible opportunity to shine. We very much look forward to seeing what inventive fundraising ideas they come up with next.”
