Chinese construction equipment manufacturer 5453 SDLG recently invited 50 major customers from Saudi Arabia and Qatar to watch a key clash in the SDLG-sponsored 2014 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League.

The VIP guests, joined by SDLG Saudi Arabia dealer Famco, saw Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal triumph 1-0 over Qatar rivals Al Sadd in the Quarter-Final AFC Champions League clash at Riyadh’s King Fahd International Stadium.

The AFC Champions League is Asia’s largest football tournament, and SDLG is the first construction equipment brand to sponsor the tournament.

“Soccer is the world’s most popular sport and it puts great emphasis on passion, vitality and teamwork –all values that the SDLG brand is keen to promote,” said Yu Mengsheng, executive president of SDLG. “We are keen to support football at every level – from local communities to pan-Asian tournaments.”

At the Al Hilal v Al Sadd match on Tuesday 19 August 2014, SDLG displayed its biggest-selling wheeled loader model, the LG958L, outside the stadium for its VIP guests and football fans to see. The 5tonne capacity unit has a 3m³ standard bucket and 3.12m maximum dump height, making it perfect for all kinds of farming and general construction activities. SDLG also sells the 6tonne capacity LG968 and the 7tonne capacity LG978 across the Middle East region.
