Holcim Nicaragua excels in corporate social responsibility

Cement company Holcim Nicaragua is said to rank third among other companies owned by the Swiss-based group in terms of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) performance. This relates to an assessment carried out by Holcim in 2013, in which its local subsidiary scored 90.3% in this category. The business's Ecuadorian and Costa Rican divisions came in first and second place.

Cement company 680 Holcim Nicaragua is said to rank third among other companies owned by the Swiss-based group in terms of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) performance.

This relates to an assessment carried out by Holcim in 2013, in which its local subsidiary scored 90.3% in this category.

The business's Ecuadorian and Costa Rican divisions came in first and second place.

Holcim Nicaragua has said that it invested US$125,000 (€96,728.75) in social responsibility over 2013, doubling the funds allocated to CSR in 2012.

The company is reported as saying it aims to allocate a similar sum to this initiative in 2014.

It also came first place in assessing the role of women in management positions during 2013 and over the past five years, the Nicaraguan company has been headed by a female general manager, Dolores Prado.
