Lafarge-Holcim to focus on R&D in Lyon, France

Following the proposed merger of French construction materials group Lafarge and Swiss cement specialist Holcim, the new entity has put in place an international network based around its R&D centre in Lyon, France. In total, the new group will invest more than €120 million (US$155.27 million)/year in research, product development and the improvement of industrial processes. With turnover of €15.80 billion (US$20.44 billion), the Lafarge-Holcim group will employ 65,000 people.

Following the proposed merger of French construction materials group 725 Lafarge and Swiss cement specialist 680 Holcim, the new entity has put in place an international network based around its R&D centre in Lyon, France.

In total, the new group will invest more than €120 million (US$155.27 million)/year in research, product development and the improvement of industrial processes.

With turnover of €15.80 billion (US$20.44 billion), the Lafarge-Holcim group will employ 65,000 people.
