RSSMarket players report that two concrete manufacturers, Lujabeton and 2995 Betomix LO, will merge in the nearest future.

Lujabeton is a subsidiary of Finland's Luja, whose annual turnover totals approximately €500 million and Betomix LO is a division of Finland's 3636 Rudus, which has over €300 million turnover and belongs to Ireland's 723 CRH Group.

The rumoured merger will allow the companies to occupy 5% of the St Petersburg and the Leningrad region market. Some experts think that both businesses will remain, but a unified brand or a management directorate will be set up. Others think that the companies will be united on the basis of Lujabeton.

The companies have similar output capacity: each owns three concrete plants, which are able to make 20,000m³ of concrete/month in total. Lujabeton occupies 3% of the region's market and Betomix LO holds 2%.
