Belarus’s Granit lowers crushed stone production plan for 2015

The Belarusian company Granit has lowered its plan for crushed stone production in 2015 from 15.70 million tonnes to 13.50 million tonnes, which is the same as in 2012. The company may also stop developing the Sitnitskoe field and construction of a mining and processing plant. Granit's actions are caused by a fall in demand for crushed stone in Russia, which is the main export market of the company, as well as by the Russian rouble's devaluation and price dumping practices of Ukrainian producers.
