The Construction Climate Challenge (CCC) initiative promotes sustainability throughout the entire construction industry value chain and provides much-needed funding for environmental research.
Martin Weissburg, president of Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE), will host the CCC summit in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 24 June, where distinguished panels of speakers will discuss the real-world challenges of achieving sustainable construction.
Presenters include representatives from the Volvo Group; WWF; Stockholm Resilience Center;
Representatives from the Swedish Transport Administration, Swedish Energy Agency, local government in Gothenburg,
Discussion topics include UN and European Commission initiatives and, in the build up to COP21 (the UN climate change conference in Paris, France), how circular business models and collaboration across the value chain, together with innovations and research, can reduce the climate impact of construction.
