A new dome-shaped silo costingf NZD 50 million (€30.14 million/US$33.05 million) has been inflated on the waterfront of Auckland, New Zealand by Holcim New Zealand. The silo, to store cement, is said to have been was set up without consulting the public, causing anger in various groups due to the increasing size of the port. A new dome-shaped silo costingf NZD 50 million (€30.14 million/US$33.05 million) has been inflated on the waterfront of Auckland, New Zealand by 680 Holcim New Zealand.

The silo, to store cement, is said to have been was set up without consulting the public, causing anger in various groups due to the increasing size of the port.

The 28m high silo is state-of-the-art and can store 30,000tonnes of cement, and is located opposite Vector Arena at a Ports of Auckland site.

Holcim is building two 30,000tonne storage facilities in Timaru and Auckland costing NZD 100 million.

The new terminal in Auckland is targeted to be in full operation between mid to late 2016.
