The inaugural 8257 CONEXPO Latin America has been hailed a success with strong exhibitor support, valued industry cooperation, and positive reaction from attendees.

Nearly 32,600 registrants from more than 90 countries attended the landmark event, exceeding organisers’ original expectations. In addition to the host country of Chile, significant numbers of professional attendees came from throughout the region. The top five Latin American countries besides the host country (in order) were Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Colombia, and Bolivia.

CONEXPO Latin America was held October 21-24, 2015 in Santiago (Espacio Riesco), co-located with Edifica and EXPO HORMIGÓN.

“We appreciated the opportunity to co-locate with these two prestigious exhibitions and bring another dimension and broader perspective with the addition of the equipment manufacturers. We are very pleased with the positive reaction to our exhibition. Our manufacturers understand the continued business opportunities in the region and Chile as a leader,” said Paul Puissegur, CONEXPO Latin America show director.

CONEXPO Latin America featured the latest construction-related equipment, products, technologies and services for Latin America with the innovations that advance productivity, efficiencies, safety and sustainability. Attendees were able to discuss business solutions directly with the manufacturers and engineers.

The event exceeded its original space goal by more than 60 percent, and covered 40,000m² of exhibits, education and networking, including more than 300 exhibitors from around the world. Five international exhibit pavilions provided added value and were organised by China, Germany, Italy, North America and United Kingdom.

Together CONEXPO Latin America, Edifica and EXPO HORMIGÓN brought 800 exhibitors to Santiago. Companies showcased the latest products and services on 75,000 square meters.

Representatives from a number of leading CONEXPO Latin America exhibitors have expressed satisfaction with the event.

“CONEXPO Latin America offered 441 LiuGong a high quality, professional platform to meet with old and new customers from Chile and throughout the region. The event was very successful for us with several pieces of equipment sold,” said Tan Zuozhou of LiuGong Latin America.

“It was a great experience to be able to participate in a high quality, international trade show that, without doubt, put us at the centre of the market,” said Bruno Maldonado, marketing Specialist, 411 Doosan Bobcat Chile.

“CONEXPO Latin America provided a great opportunity for the Volvo brand to establish contacts even closer to our customers in the important Latin American market. We are expecting good results with regard to sales and excellent showcase for our brand,” said Afrânio Chueire, president – Volvo Construction Equipment Latin America.

The 6184 Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) was a key driver in the creation of the CONEXPO Latin America exhibition.

“The Association of Equipment Manufacturers has a longstanding commitment to Latin America to advance business development and cooperation; we are privileged to work together with the leading organisations in Chile, and throughout the region,” said AEM President Dennis Slater. “We are especially fortunate to have developed a strong and continuing relationship with the Chilean Chamber of Construction (CChC) as a key show partner; we value their support and the support of all industry partners,” said Slater. “It is with their help that we have been able to bring the CONEXPO brand here.”

CONEXPO Latin America continues its commitment to the Latin America region, returning in October 2016 with a high-level seminar programme in Lima, Peru.
