Cement producer Tasek of Malaysia registered a 7% year-on-year increase in its revenue from MYR 656 million (€140.42 million/US$158.07 million) to MYR 702.5 million in 2015, while its pre-tax profit decreased from MYR 136.32 million to MYR 119.82 million.
Revenue and net profit reported by Tasek in October-December 2015 alone stood at MYR 188.40 million (up 8.9%) and at MYR 18.47 million (down 33%), respectively.
The company attributed its weaker profit in 2015 to increased production costs and intense price competition.
