Hyundai unveils 9A series

Like its fellow new 9A series hydraulic excavators with engines above 130kW, the engine on the Robex R380NLC-9A hydraulic crawler excavator from Hyundai Heavy Industries (HI) comes with an EGR and diesel particulate filter (DPF). The DPF is said to be automatically or manually regenerated ensuring compliance with all NOx and PM values. According to Hyundai HI, DPF filters only need to be cleaned after 5,000 to 6,000 hours in operation. The R380NLC-9A, like all 9A series machines, complies with strict Tier 4

Like its fellow new 9A series hydraulic excavators with engines above 130kW, the engine on the Robex R380NLC-9A hydraulic crawler excavator from 429 Hyundai Heavy Industries (HI) comes with an EGR and diesel particulate filter (DPF).

The DPF is said to be automatically or manually regenerated ensuring compliance with all NOx and PM values. According to Hyundai HI, DPF filters only need to be cleaned after 5,000 to 6,000 hours in operation.

The R380NLC-9A, like all 9A series machines, complies with strict Tier 4 Interim/EU-Stage IIIB standards on engine emissions.

Meanwhile, the joystick consoles and operator’s seat in the R380NLC-9A and the other new 9A series hydraulic excavators are said by Hyundai HI to form an ergonometric unit, no longer requiring separate fittings. The South Korean firm hopes that operators will benefit from the machine’s smart key and in-cab touch displays. In addition, the engines can also be turned on with a start button and activated at any time with a password. The in-cab display is said to be large and can be moved to the best ergonomic position and allows the operator to select working modes quickly.

Hyundai HI said it gives an overview of all fuel levels and information on any errors in clear text.

A Bluetooth mobile phone connection is also available with the new 9A series hydraulic excavators for the first time. This is said to make it possible for the operator to communicate with colleagues outside the excavator using the optional hands-free device, a feature claimed to be in high demand for civil excavation and trenching work.

The maintenance intervals for the new 9A generation of machines have been increased to 500 hours for all components and 1,000 hours for hydraulic filters. The models’ hydraulic oil is said by Hyundai HI to have a service life of 5,000 hours due to the very fine inflow and return flow filters.
