The UK Minerals Product Association (867 MPA) has signed a service level agreement to provide a wide range of management, administration and technical services to 1829 British Precast.

Staff will transfer from British Precast to MPA to ensure that the current working relationships deepen and strengthen.

Andrew Minson, executive director of the MPA’s Concrete Centre, will now also lead and manage the new British Precast team as executive director. Martin Clarke, the former chief executive of British Precast, will become senior director and company secretary and provide consultancy services. The President of British Precast will join the MPA Board.

Andy Dix, president of British Precast, said:“I am delighted that the evolution of the concrete industry is taking another major step forward. This new working relationship enables the precast sector to strengthen its influence within the industry and enables the industry to speak with one clear and more powerful voice. I thank Martin Clarke for his leadership of the precast sector over the years and wish Andrew Minson every success as he leads British Precast as part of the wider MPA family.”

Nigel Jackson, chief executive MPA, said: “This development marks a very significant move forward for the industry to act in a more strategic, integrated and aligned way.
